Jeff Plant Promoted to Estate Winemaker

Our founder, Bob MacDonnell, always said, “People are everything” and this is a tenet we honor to our core. Our people, our teams, and our guests mean everything to us. To this end, we are thrilled to announce the promotion of Jeff Plant to Estate Winemaker, overseeing all vineyard and winemaking activity.

__________

We believe in our people and love nothing more than honoring the work they have done and seeing them grow into new roles and responsibilities. Jeff is a familiar face here at Round Pond as he was previously the Assistant Winemaker under John Wilson, and he has collaborated with John & consulting winemaker Thomas Rivers Brown to craft Round Pond’s exceptional wines since 2015.

Jeff brings 21 years of experience to this role having started his wine career at Provenance Vineyards under the direction of Tom Rinaldi and then furthering his foundation at Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars. Joining Round Pond as Cellar Master, he continued to demonstrate his winemaking skill and leadership as he transitioned into the role of Assistant Winemaker and now to Estate Winemaker.

A Napa native, Jeff says, ““I am excited to continue the evolution of winemaking here at Round Pond Estate. It is an honor to work with outstanding vineyards, and I look forward to continuing the legacy of world class wines that Round Pond has become known for producing, year after year.”

A huge asset to the Round Pond team since he began, he has proven himself to be invaluable every step of the way and he is the right person to take our winemaking into the future. We are looking forward to his leadership and watching him produce more amazing wines!
