Accolades

92 points, The Tasting Panel

“Pale but vibrant color, with wonderful, expressive aromas of green apple, citrus zest, stone fruit, and tropical notes. Crafted in a nuanced, subtle style with just enough oak to add a well-integrated smoky note. Acidity is zesty and fresh with very good length on the back palate. Aged twelve months in French oak.”  — Bob Paulinski, The Tasting Panel

Vineyard Notes

The 2022 vintage was the third in a string of drought years. Despite the drought, there was well-timed Spring rain that boosted the vines’ vigor allowing for nicely established canopies for both shade and photosynthesis. The weather remained relatively mild and even, with routine fog patterns cooling nighttime and morning temperatures.

Winemaker Notes

This fruit is sourced from the heart of Russian River Valley where nightly ocean fog patterns create a cooling effect slows down the ripening process, preserving high acidity and increasing flavor development in the grapes. The vineyard is sustainably farmed and planted on well drained, loamy soils. We harvested grapes by hand in the cool of the night., picking fruit at varying ripeness levels to enhance aromatic layers and palate complexity. The fruit was gently pressed whole cluster to minimize skin contact and, again, preserve the grapes’ naturally high acidity. A portion of this wine was put through malolactic fermentation to soften its high acidity, broaden the palate, and add a touch of toasty bouquet to the nose. 100% Chardonnay, stainless steel fermented and aged for 5 months.
