2024 Growers Series Pinot Noir
This wine was developed from a love for the expression of the vineyard —cool-climate, fog-kissed, and farmed by friends who share our values. The fruit was so vibrant, so layered, that it practically told its own story in the glass. Silky texture, bright red fruit, and a whisper of spice—it was everything we wanted in a Pinot.
Member Price: $64 – $76
Harvested from a hillside vineyard, the balance of cooling morning fog and warm days led to rich red fruit. Full-bodied and richly layered, this wine has excellent structure and introduces earthy tones harmoniously entwined with the red and black fruit.
The Growers Series wines represent a collection of exceptional varietals found outside of our Rutherford estate. These wines are crafted with the same detail and attention as our estate wines while offering us the opportunity to showcase the vineyards and terroir of our fellow growers throughout Napa and Sonoma.
Tasting Notes
Bright aromatic notes of pomegranate and raspberry leap from the glass with a touch of rose petal. Cherry, rhubarb, and strawberry notes dance across the palate with hints of cocoa, soft baking spice and an umami finish. The focused fruit and balanced acidity give this wine exceptional structure and a satisfyingly long finish.
Vineyard Notes
2024 was a picture-perfect growing season with exceptional fruit set, balanced vines, and ideal ripening. While days were a bit hotter than usual during the summer months, nights cooled significantly, slowing vines to replenish and balance out ripening. Careful canopy management was key to ensuring we got dappled sunlight on the fruit without too much sun exposure on the hot days. The warmer weather helped us achieve maximum ripeness and concentration with deep color and flavors for our red wines while our white wines have our signature bright acidity mixed with loads of tropical aromas and flavors.
Winemaker Notes
Hand-picked, about 15% of the fruit was whole cluster fermented while the remaining fruit was gently destemmed to still get whole berries into the fermentation tank. After 12-14 days on skins, the wine was put into French oak barrels for 10 months before being bottled and released.
