2019 Kith & Kin Cabernet Sauvignon 1.5L
Member Price: $92-$105
Our sister brand Kith & Kin, Old English for “Friends & Family”, showcases the beauty of Napa Valley fruit. This Cabernet Sauvignon is sourced from vineyards in both Oakville and Rutherford and is approachable in its youth, with balanced tannins and a fruit-forward character.
92 Points, The Tasting Panel “Dense and meaty, with an anise and roasted coffee backdrop. A parade of red and black fruit march around its upright structure. Finishes with a burnish of cinnamon cedar that keeps the palate satisfied.”
92 Points, Wine Spectator “Ripe and lush, but also fresh, with a very enticing beam of loganberry, açaí berry, and raspberry fruit flavors driving through, flecked with anise and apple wood accents along the way. There is focused, juicy energy through the finish. Drink now through 2032.”—J.M.
Tasting Notes
Beautifully complex and rich aromatics of bright cassis and ripe red fruit jump out of the glass. This wine opens with bright raspberry, softening through the mid-palate with notes of toffee, cocoa, and crème brulee. The soft and smooth mouthfeel paired with fine-grained tannins effortlessly round out this young and serious, yet remarkably approachable Cabernet.
Vineyard Notes
The 2019 rainy season was punctuated by a fairly large rain event in May which allowed vines to grow and develop with low to no irrigation. The growing season was long and, towards the end, very mild. We were allowed to pick when the fruit was ready without having our hands forced by extreme heat or rain. We are extremely pleased with the quality and character of the resulting 2019 wines with red varieties demonstrating richly saturated red fruit notes such as ripe raspberry and dark cherry with soft supple tannins.
