This wine is a mélange of Cabernet Sauvignon with other varietals that thrive here on our Rutherford Estate. The varietal composition changes each year, but the fruit-forward and complex nature of this special wine remains consistent. 

40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Petit Verdot, 20% Malbec | 18 months in 50% new tight grain French oak

Tasting Notes

Flashy red fruits leap from the glass, complimented by hints of evergreen and dried flowers. This wine is rich and powerful with ripe raspberries and candied cherries on entry—the mid-palate exhibits tropical fruit, plum, and black pepper. Big, ripe, and round tannins on the finish show serious aging potential on this blend.

Vineyard Notes

Warm, dry conditions during spring brought about an early bud break that resulted in very healthy vines going into flowering and fruit set. Conditions continued to be excellent throughout the growing season, with cooler, sunny weather through September and October. This allowed the fruit to hang longer on the vine for better flavor development and phenolic maturity without excessive sugar accumulation. Lots that best represented our Rutherford site were selected, blended together, and bottled in late May.
