Aging: 18 months in 60% new tight-grain French oak
Accolades
“Beautifully crafted, this wine is rich, sleek, and polished. Pretty shades of toasty, smoky oak cloaking the chewy dark berry, black cherry, and currant notes, showing a crushed rock edge to the texture and a long, sustained finish that keeps opening new flavor doors. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot, and Malbec. Drink now through 2028." 92 Points, Wine Spectator
Tasting Notes
The black cherry and chocolate nose readies the palate for intense blue fruit and boysenberries. The Bordeaux signature of violets and lilacs combined with a velvety finish and elegant tannins make this a wine to remember. Enjoy now or cellar beautifully for 10+ years.
Vineyard Notes
Warm, dry conditions during spring brought about an early bud break that resulted in very healthy vines going into flowering and fruit set. Conditions continued to be excellent throughout the growing season, with cooler, sunny weather through September and October. This allowed the fruit to hang longer on the vine for better flavor development and phenolic maturity without excessive sugar accumulation. Lots that best represented our Rutherford site were selected, blended together, and bottled in late May.
