The palate displays flavors of Bakers chocolate, espresso, and candied cherries complimented by just a touch of vanilla.

Vineyard Notes

Round Pond's estate vineyards are sustainably farmed by a combination of traditional old world methods and new world innovations (including satellite imaging, pressure bombs, and precision farming). Throughout the growing season, longtime vineyard managers Paul Jackson and Chris Pedemonte carefully guide block selection, pruning and canopy management. In particular, the 2009 vintage was a mild and relatively cool growing season. With only five frost incidents in 2009, compared to thirty in 2008, growers were able to sleep nights during the milder winter months. Late spring rains delayed irrigation needs and the warm spell in June helped curtail excessive canopy development. Summer showed only a few days of triple digit temperatures, helping to ensure a comfortable growing season for the 2009 grapes.
